DOT Physical Exams
Currently all interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers are required to have a valid medical certificate signed by a healthcare provider. The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) is a new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) program. It requires all medical examiners who wish to perform physical examinations for interstate CMV drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical qualification standards.
With the implementation of the NRCME, all drivers must be examined by a Medical Examiner who is listed on the National Registry after May 21st, 2014. Dr. Benson and Dr. Klimek are certified medical examiners and have completed the required training, passed the certification test, and are registered on the National Registry system.
